DK – Wavy Lacy Hairband and Cuffs

With summer coming it is time to design some hairbands rather than ear warming headbands.  As cuffs are a fashionable item I thought I would design matching cuffs.

I decided to use the four row feather stitch pattern, that would mean the hairband and cuffs could be worked to any width required.  Narrow or deep, they would have wavy edges

I knitted a narrow toddlers hairband and deeper cuffs

I knitted a wider girls hairband in a different variation of stripes

I knitted the cuffs with an extra 4 row repeat on each colour to make them wider than the hairband and still match.

Because the feather stitch has a wavy edge when the cuffs are worn pulled up over the hand one of the wavy’s fits nicely just under the knuckles without the rest of the cuff being in the way of using the thumb.
