DK – Cat Hat
I was asked to design and knit a Cat hat, that gave me the opportunity to write a knitting pattern for a Cat hat as well.
Looking at images of a cat’s head the mouth area needed 2 small defined cheeks, a triangular nose and whiskers. I couldn’t think of a material I could use to make the whiskers without them sticking into the head wearing the hat, or stay sticking out after the hat had been washed. So I sewed the whiskers on.

I tried the hat with black eyes, like my other animal head hats. It made the cat look very scary, so I went for a button with a hint of red and clear so you could see the colour of the wool through the button.
